6 Ways to Keep Your Mattress Clean, Fresh and Healthy




You know that if your mattress is in poor condition, your good night's sleep would be greatly affected. When you take good care of your mattress it can serve you for more than 10 years providing you with the essential sleep. Despite these well-known facts, many people still neglect its condition and do not pay the necessary attention when it comes to maintaining its good hygiene. Make a paste out of 1 tablespoon liquid dish soap, 1 tablespoon salt and ¼ cup hydrogen peroxide. Apply on the spot and once it has dried up, scrape the residue off. If the stain is still visible dab with a clean white cloth dipped in hydrogen peroxide and repeat if needed.

  • What about urine stains? When your kids are little they inevitably happen but with the help of this proven recipe you will be able to clean your mattress efficiently. Mix 3 tablespoons baking soda, ½ cup of hydrogen peroxide and 1 teaspoon dishwashing liquid. Apply on the spot and let it sit for a couple of minutes. If the stain is really stubborn, add laundry detergent powder and a little bit of water to make a dry foam. Again, let it sit for half an hour and scrape the excess. Dab with a clean cloth and vacuum the area – simple as that!
